RAM issue for my Asus mobo

Hi there. Seems like a friendly place - hoping you can help...

On Saturday I moved from XP to Win 7 64bit and was hoping to go the whole hog and move up from my puny 2 gig of ram to the boards advertised max of 8 gig. I have an Asus P5Ke wifi mobo and my 2 single gig sticks were both Kingston DDR2.
Unfortunately the RAM I bought is Blue screen of deathing my pc. I bought 2 packs of Kingston Hyperx DDR2 4 gig 'kits' but can't seem to get them to work. I'm suspicious that it's because of power and that the BIOS is responsible, but I don't know where to go from there... I have no BIOS experience.

    Any help or advice please?

    Many thanks.

What is the error message and code that you are getting in the blue screen post. I think that you will not get the bsod on the 2gig ram installed booting to windows 7 because then it was installed. So I would suggest change the memory to Kingston 4x2GB and then boot to windows 7 and you will come accross a bsod again and then again install a new windows 7 on same machine with different partitions on same specs and this time it will just work fine for you.

Thanks for the reply - I've lost the photo of the full bsod message, but my the stop code was:
    STOP: 0X0000000A (0X0000000000000000, 0X0000000000000002, 0X0000000000000001, 0XFFFFF800C0CEBF0)
I'm a bit confused about your suggestion though! How do I install a new windows 7 if it keeps going to bsod? Will the option to boot from disc come up before the bsod?

    Many thanks!

Yes you can install the Windows 7 again if you are getting the BSOD. All you have to do is to set the boot priority to the CD/DVD ROM and then insert the Windows 7 genuine CD to perform the installation of Windows 7. I will also advise you to check for the compatibility of all your Hardware with the Windows 7 before installation. If it is not compatible then you might keeps getting BSOD error.
