Do AMD Phenom II x4 970 perform than better intel i7 920 in FSX

I was planning to changing to an AMD Phenom II x4 970 chipset platform starting an Intel i7 920. I find that I possibly sell my Intel i7 920, 2GB DDR31650 RAM, and motherboard for around Rs 15500. I can able to get a Phenom II x4 970 and motherboard for around Rs 17000 by putting extra money from my pocket. I'm finding for improved performance in FSX. I don't over clock since I require reliability so I won't believe over clocking my Intel i7 920 to get better performance. Can it be useful to change to a Phenom II x4 970 platform from Intel i7 920? Do Phenom II x4 970 perform than better intel i7 920 ? So anyone has idea about the performance of this chipsets ? so let me know.

FSX is one of those games that depend most on customary raw CPU speeds. It doesn't create high-quality use of multi core i.e. i7. CPUs though SP1 added a few support. It doesn't give advantage a lot from a great GPU nor does it take benefit of SLI/Crossfire. Personally, I'd remain with the intel i7 920 and stay for faster CPUs or wait for MS Flight and hope it uses as a minimum the current technology. I like FSX very much But, it's a dinosaur judge against with supplementary games. An option to FSX would be X-Plane 9. It has a additional "realistic" experience and is runs much better than FSX on the similar hardware. But, whether it's more enjoyable or not than FSX depends on the player. Personally, I observer that FSX is entertaining in any platform. I will suggest you to stay with i7.

I think Intel i7 processor are better than AMD phenom II x4 970 , if you get a AMD phenon II x4 970 it'll be a demote down and you may face some problems in if you just change Amd phenon to inbuilt Intel i7. Now if you were assembling your computer from scratch AMD phenon II x4 970 is great cheaper choice in the matter of cost. but if you have an i7 920 don't change it. But like everyone says for overclocking speed, no one would beat AMD phenon.

Since you want AMD Phenon II for overclocking your speed then I will suggest you to buy it. Because the clocking speed of AMD phenom II x4 970 is higher than 3.5 GHz which is much better than intel i 7 speed of just 2.6 GHz. If performance is concern then I will tell you to don’t change your intel i7 processor since it is worth full than AMD phenon II. So it is your choice what to do. If the cost is concerning you then buy AMD Phenon II.
