Need advice for selecting processor for upgrading my PC

Hi,

I'm going to upgrade my current PC(AMD Athlon64 + ASUS A8VMX+512 DDR1) with a latest one. My budget is 12K. I'm only need to buy "processor+mother board+ram".

I'm a software programmer by profession. I mostly uses it for doing programs in netbeans and playing songs in the background. also rarely for gaming.

Can you tell your opinion/feedback about the latest processors and its approximate price.

You could add this to your choices now, Intel core duo ideal for multimedia and multitasking. intel E7500 is - 5000(INR). Or try AMD Phenom X3 8650... its price is at 4200 Rupee. This is a triple core and built in a new architecture.
