    Phenom II 940 vs I7 920

Looking slightly on site hardware, I saw that AMD has released two new processors, the Phenom II 920 X4 and the 940 X4 Black Edition all 2 based on the same architecture as the phenom previous but engraved 45nm with cache L3 6MB. Here i am interested in the Phenom II 940 but i am also concerned with the Core I7 920. Which is the best.

    Re: Phenom II 940 vs I7 920

AMD and Intel are waging a fierce battle on the processor market since other brands such as Cyrix have completely let go. In turn , one dominates the other, and if it was the turn of AMD the Athlon64 and X2 2003, Intel took control since July 2006 with a Core architecture without any real fault. The Phenom AMD should sound the bugle of revolt and was the worst launch of the firm over the past 5 years with a processor behind on all fronts : frequencies , performance , power consumption. AMD has since climbed to the process of etching 45nm and Phenom II resulting therefrom is timely to boost sales!

I would suggest you to go for the Phenom II 940 since on paper it seems well under way , at least in part, because the model Phenom II 940 is clocked at 3 GHz , a frequency that AMD had failed to achieve since the Athlon 64 X2. In the process, AMD also lifts the veil on its new platform that combines CPU , motherboard and graphics card . Called Dragon, this platform is built on AMD 7-Series and Radeon HD 4000: nothing very new then, why we will focus here exclusively on Phenom II.

I think that Intel I7 920 will be the best. Because It processor brings together four '' cores ,'' meaning that it contains four microprocessors. One of the new Core i5 and i7 is that these four cores are mounted on a single die ( matrix structure), while the Core 2 Quad are mounted on two dies and requires a '' bus'' ( a network communication ) , the Core i5 and i7 become even more speed. This one is etched in 45 nanos, which allows lower power consumption and heat lower.

After analyzing in detail the Processors architecture it will be better if you opt for the I7 920 , which is at the heart of the new Core i7 processors from Intel, we decided to test the most affordable of them: the i7 920. We will return later on the i7 965, which has been delivered, but is a model that exists more for the image and marketing for the real user . Clocked at 2.66 GHz, has a base frequency identical to the other two models 940 and 96

    Re: Phenom II 940 vs I7 920

Intel has sent us a platform rather complete consisting of a motherboard Smackover , or DX58SO , based on X58, the layout rather effective ( judge for yourselves ) and the BIOS rather complete , as we see later, although he puts an time incomprehensible to proceed to boot the operating system , like all models of the manufacturer ...

Phenom should be the first processor architecture quad-core native versus Intel Core 2 Quad and Core 2 Extreme Intel were the result of two dual cores together on a single chip. In the process, AMD also lifts the veil on its new platform that combines CPU , motherboard and graphics card . Called Dragon, this platform is built on AMD 7-Series and Radeon HD 4000: nothing very new then, why we will focus here exclusively on Phenom II.
