Low power consumption IPC motherboard in mini-DTX form factor: DFI CA230-BF

I had just found in a email from my friend about the DTX Motherboard. It is launched by DFI. It is called as a DTX motherboard (CA230-BF Mini-DTX) equipped with an Intel chipset GM45 and ICH9M. The card was designed for embedded processors such as Core 2 Duo T9400. It is said this board has low power consumption support. What is this about. I need more detail on the same.

DTX is an open format motherboard introduced by AMD, which was to revolutionize the mini PC. The advantage of a mini-DTX board is that it generally has more than one card slot mini-ITX. Thus we find on the map DFI port PCI-Express x16, one PCI-Express x1 and one PCI slot. The power consumption depends on the PSU you had provided. It is not a new board.

This is a small board with better support for microATX system. The QC requirement of ACP (Applied computing platform) is very strict here and to ACP boards you have to take switching surge flash & impact. And, the warranty period Longer & better material are Also the differences between channel motherboards & ACP boards. Today the model which you had mentioned can be installed on mini-ITX case.

You can install VGA card for better 3D performance, the ATI 4670 is cheap & has good power efficiency, or you can choose NVIDIA 9600GT. DFI ACP products are designed for industry & business purpose so I think you must try for the much newer board that are available. There are much newer board by intel and gigabyte which gives you a higher support.

For Power consumption support in this board you can choose Core 2 Duo CPU to save more power. Then you can use 150W PSU to run this platform. I had seen that this gives out a a impressive performance for that power consumption & size. This board still supports DDR2 ram and for the same I will not recommend the same model again. Try to get a newer boards.

It is called as industrial board. Thanks to Intel's GM45 Express chipset, the new fact, in a 45 nanometer process-made mobile processors, are used such as the Core 2 Duo T9400 and up to eight gigabytes of DDR2 notebook memory with up to 400 megahertz. There are some more additional features which includes only one PCI-Express x16, one PCI Express x1 and one standard PCI slot, an Ultra DMA IDE and four SATA II ports, eight USB 2.0 ports and a DVI output.

Gigabyte also offers a similar and powerful board. The format DTX, AMD is definitely about him these days. Gigabyte is the leading manufacturer of motherboards present to the world - stunned - a mini-DTX motherboard ready for sale to the general public. It is indeed devoid of PCI-Express 16x, and it must therefore be satisfied with the poor performance of the circuit Mirage 1 integrated SIS 761GX north bridge to.
