Any cpus that are as powerful as an I7 980x but not the 1 grand price tag

I am looking for some cheaper alternative for Intel Core i7 processor. I know that amd offers some cheaper substitute for that. But I am not aware about any processor in the same power. My work is for graphic support and I had heard AMD has good support for that. What you recommend for that. The Core i7 and Core i5 is a bit costly processor for an high end system.

In comparison to Core i5 you can better choose AMD Phenom II X6. This AMD's first hexa-core processor for the general public usage which was released as Intel has launched Core i7. There are some two models in that. The first is Phenom II X6 1090T and 1055T II X6. It has a similar architecture of previous Phenom X4 II, the Phenom II X6 has a hex-core design.

Yes AMD Phenom II can a lower solution for you. The memory controller is integrated naturally always supports DDR3 memory on two channels. Note that the memory controller is backward compatible with DDR2 memory for older AMD platforms. The Phenom processors II X6 supports virtualization technologies and much better performer. You can notice out the difference by reading the specification.

There are two versions of the Phenom II X6 are launched so far. The first one is Phenom II X6 1090T which gives you 3.2 GHz, 3.6 GHz Core Turbo, TDP 125W and the other one is Phenom II X6 1055T, 2.8 GHz, 3.3 GHz Core Turbo, TDP 125W. 1075T version clocked at 3 GHz with a 3.5 GHz Turbo mode is a TDP of 125W and a Phenom X4 II 960T clocked at 3 GHz with a Turbo Core 3.4 GHz which is actually a Thuban with 2 core disabled.

In the area of desktop processors with six cores, although it is only the second, but it will offer them the first time at a price below 300, respectively, even under 200 €. Whether the models are worth Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition 3.2 GHz and the small offshoot 1055T 2.8GHz compared to the previous quad-core models. This is a nice models.

Its frequency varies between 3.5 and 3.6 GHz. With two core assets, we are at 3.5 GHz, with three cores at 3.5 GHz and with four core Core Turbo is inactive, resulting in a frequency of 3.2 GHz. It should be noted that AMD OverDrive does not exactly the same frequencies as in the software it is AMD 3.6 GHz with 1 or 2 core and 3 core with it varies between 3.5 and 3.6 GHz. It is impossible to say now which of the software is right, but in any case you can see that the Turbo CORE is functional.

Yes AMD processor is a nice one and a better alternative. The memory controller of this cpu supports DDR3 memory, dual channel, with a compatibility guaranteed until DDR3 PC10600, aka DDR3-1333. In fact, the memory controller on board Phenom II may far exceed the 1333 MHz and achieve, for example the 1600 MHz. Regarding the TDP or thermal envelope of these new processors, AMD certifies them both for a value of 125 Watts.
