    Upgrading to dual core processor with Windows Vista

    Microsoft recommends a processor clocked at 800 MHz minimum , 1 GHz to enjoy all the features. New processors Dual - Core are particularly recommended for Windows Vista , as well as processors with 64-bit technology : EM64T Intel Pentium 4 , Intel Pentium 4 Extreme Edition EM64T , AMD Athlon 64, AMD Athlon 64 FX , AMD Athlon 64 Mobile or AMD Turion 64. Regarding the minimum specifications required by Microsoft for the proper functioning of Vista , the giant software evokes:

    * Processor 800 MHz
    * 512 MB RAM,
    * Hard Drive 20GB with 15GB available
    It is understood that graphics compatible DirectX 9.0 ( Class Radeon 9500 / GeForce FX and higher) is required to enjoy the Aero graphical interface , and its transparency effects . For Microsoft optimal characteristics are as follows:
    * 1GHz or more
    * 1GB of RAM ,

    Re: Upgrading to dual core processor with Windows Vista

    According to Microsoft, Windows Vista requires a modern CPU . It would take on an Intel or AMD 1 GHz minimum, 2 GHz for a comfortable operation and can be 4 GHz for the benefit of all features . New processors Dual - core are excellent choice for Vista. So it begs the question of passing to a configuration supports 64-bit processor. The current 64-bit are excellent according to Microsoft. In addition, the processor can execute x64 versions of Windows XP 32-bit and 64 bit. A 64-bit processor would be a excellent choice to stand by the release of Windows Vista and you dive at the same time in the world x64.

    It's interesting for all the " geeks " , for testing in overclocking , so as to determine a core that will crash during heavy mounted frequency for testing or simply conserve energy. A quadcore core flanked by a defective and could be used without hesitation if it is off where it offers additional crashes. If you uncheck the " Number of processors "in the Options window Advanced file and you boot valid through OK , it should return it by default . Reboot the PC . Then verified whether the two core operating normally in the task manager ( ctrl + alt + del) , under " Performance ".

    All tested PCs are equipped with the Home Premium edition Vista.Outre presence - anecdotal - a few extra games over the Home Basic edition , the choice of Windows Vista is important for two things . Firstly , it is possible to enable the Aero interface , with 3D effects and transparency. More importantly, it means that the Media Center software to organize and enjoy all media files , is present. It is as if the microphones were equipped with Media Center Edition of Windows XP , but Vista is released.

    Re: Upgrading to dual core processor with Windows Vista

    All systems operating standards allow use of dual-core CPU . In from Microsoft , the Bi- processor computers require at least Windows 2000 or Windows XP Pro . The use of 4 processors or requires more dedicated server versions of Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 (As also the number of processors) . By cons , versions Bi are seen as a single CPU XP ( Home and Pro), 2003 and VISTA ( y included with all versions of hyperthreading ). The basic versions are single processor ( physical), other versions of VISTA accept 2 processors.
