    Intel xeon x3440 vs i5 760I

I want to get a new pc for my office. It will be the central pc will have a centralized storage location for all other pc. That means all files are going to be stored in my pc. For that I need a decent system that can work well for long hours. There are two options I have to choose. I only need help in terms of processor. I have two in my choice. One is Intel Xeon and the other one is Intel i5 760I processor. I am not able to find out which will be best here for a decent system to go for.

Processor X3440 Quad-Core Xeon 2.53 GHz is designed for multiprocessor systems. The architecture consists of four quad-core execution units, also called processing units within a single processor . This processor offers excellent performance and high capacity for peak Internet server loads. Thus, the response time, the number of users supported and improved scalability. This product has been tested and validated on Dell. This processor is supported by Dell Technical Support when used with a Dell system.

    Intel Core i5 750:
    Frequency : 2.66 GHz
    8MB L3 cache
    HT: No

    Pros:
-Retail, many of the people can purchase this. It is a wonderful processor to utilize when reviewing as people need to observe benchmarks ran on that prosessor, rather than a "Xeon-who?" chip.
    Cons:
-There is no hyper threading, I use my processor to render 3d scenes (I divide it up into 3 parts and obtain each system to render 1/3 of the frames..).

    Intel Xeon X3440:
    Frequency : 2.53 GHz
    8MB L3 Cache
    HT: Yes

    Pros:
    - This processor will offers you Hyperthreading, that is something I want..
-Possibility of a best processor because of product "binning" for servers.

    Cons:
    - This somewhat slower than the i5.. I can do it overclock anyway; doesn't matter.
    - This is not an average processor, see i5 pro.

    Re: Intel xeon x3440 vs i5 760I

The Intel Core i5 760 has a frequency scaled up . The 4 cores are well displayed at 2.80 GHz 2.66 GHz cons on version 750. In practice, this results in slightly faster performance than 3% on average. For the rest, it’s all the same: consumption is still reduced and the Turbo is still there. As a reminder, the Turbo is capable of raising the frequency when all processor cores are not required, rather than putting other hearts to the task. In version 760, the maximum allowed is 3.33 GHz (3.20 GHz on the 750) . This frequency increase is automatic and requires no adjustment or driver.

Core i5 – 760 we offer you to discover today is a dual processor core with SMT (i.e. 4 cores visible to the OS), engraved in 32nm with its packaging in 1156 by LGA engraved in 45nm GPU. We also discover in this article a 'new' chipset called H55 quite similar to P55 except that it is able to exploit the GPU integrated into the Core i5.
