AMD Fusion APU technical details - AMD Fusion

AMD is going to release the AMD Fusion soon. I need some information on the this new processor. I want some help to find out about this new processor. I read on a magazine stating that this new processor reduce the usage of graphic support. This is really nice and I think at first release this will be very costly. Does there are different families of processor coming under this. I need some technical details on it.

AMd Fusion is going to come in different families. Like Llano is the consumer version while Ontario is the low power version of Fusion for laptops, and miniPC or HTPC. Llano as Ontario together on a single die of x86 execution cores and units of GPU parallel computing, but also the decoding engine videos UVD, the DDR3 memory controller and interface controllers needed.

Here are some technical details of Fusion Socket FS1 processor. The socket support for this is uPGA, lidless package (single-socket systems). The APU Dies family to which it belongs is AMD Family 12h. The power-plane if Dual Plane, SVI and DRAM controller specifications DDR3/DDR3L (upto DDR3-1866), SO-DIMM (supported) and UDIMM (not supported). The last one is TDP which provides 45W or 35W - 4cores, 33W - 3 cores and 30W - 2 cores.

Re: AMD Fusion APU technical details - AMD Fusion

I heard in the news that AMD is the first time demonstrated a chip Fusion which according to AMD is the future of personal computing by combining CPU and GPU into a single unit, the APU for Accelerated Processing Unit. The CPU is designed give you series of complex calculations which is doen by a GPU separately which is especially good for parallel computing.

Right now there are two processors which have been announced. On the one hand, Llano, who must come equipped standard computers, fixed or portable, and the other Ontario, notebooks sent to market or why not, the touch pads. You can look for the processor in nearby store and find the cost of the same. AMD has released the processor as per usage of public. You does need to buy a highly advance. A basic configuration is available.

Re: AMD Fusion APU technical details - AMD Fusion

AMD fusion is a APU Accelerated Processing Unit, this processor will implement a single chip processor executions x86 for treatments in series of graphics processors for treatments in parallel. In addition, one will find a memory controller as well as support for UVD 3.0 technology, ATI Stream and DX11. So that makes this all in one pack and highly efficient processor. But lots of work is going under this.
