is 2 x 2gb ddr3 (4gb ram) better than 1 x 2gb & 1 x 4gb (6gb ram)

i guess i am trying to establish if 4gb ram, configured as 2 x 2gb ddr3s, working together in dual mode, would be better than 6gb or ram, as single 2gb ddr3 and a single 4gb ddr3, not working in dual mode.
for the record, i am running Mac OS X - snow leapord

First of all you should know that how much RAM memory the motherboard of your MAC supports. If it support expansion upto the 4GB then you should go for the 2 x 2gb ddr3 RAM option and if supports the expansion upto the 8GB RAM then 1x2gb ddr3 and 1x4gb ddr3 option or 2x4 GB will be most preferable. Any of the three combination will be perfect for your system.

for concurrency you must go with 2 x 2 Gb DDR3 rams.

As if the same memory modules are installed the frequency to operate remains consistent. Regarding the super pipeline feature.

Install any 4 x 2Gb on x64bit OS ..also if u wanna get an OCZ ,Corsair etc..

But same size modules that's imp unleashing the feature of OC , compression
