Features of Intel core i7 980X

Hi,
Intel has released its new core i7 980X processor. I am looking for an overview of its best features and support. I had seen a video of the processor on internet which shows this monster processor. The output performance was really awesome especially under gaming. I prefer to switch to this processor rather than upgraded to Core i5. What are the best part of this processor.

The core i7 980X is etched into 32 nm and is the first micro-processor general public with six execution cores. Each heart has 256 KB of cache second level and 12 MB cache third level shared between cores. The Core i7 980X uses QPI bus to its trade with the X58 chipset, which achieves a throughput of 25.6 Gb / s. The hyper-threading is present on and allows the processor to have 12 logical cores, instruction sets SBS 4.1 and SBS 4.2 are of course also present.

This processor has six cores clocked at only at 3.33 GHz, but the frequency may increase with Intel TurboBooster 133 Mhz increasingly multi-threaded mode and up to 266 MHz over two hearts mode single thread. The Core i7-980X takes title of most powerful processor available on the market, and with quite a lot in advance. The problem is that consumer applications taking advantage of as many cores are very few.

In comparison to the older ones i3 and i5 Core with 32nm the Core i7-980X has more to give. It has 6 cores with Hyper-threading (12 core logic) support with 12 MB L3 cache . You will also get a controller tri-channel DDR3 and controller tri-channel DDR3 with it. It is best suitable processor for gaming and graphic designing work. But on the same hand it is too costly.
