unsure need Western Digital 500 GB Hard drive

Hi All,

I plan to buy a
WD 500 GB HDD

I already have a Samsung 160 GB HDD

My config is as follows -
2 x 1GB @ 800 MHz Kingston RAM
Cooler Master 460W PSU
Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3L
C2D E7400 2.8 Ghz
ZOTAC GTX 260

I want to keep the old 160GB HDD in addition to the new 500 GB

Will the HDD cause any power issues? will my PSU be able run the additional HDD along with 2 GB RAM?

please advise

Re: need Western Digital 500 GB Hard drive

Since your Power Supply Unit is just above 450W it is accepted to be efficient enough to support your additional 500 GB hard drive alongwith the existing 160GB hard drive. The RAM memory is not to be accounted for this. But incase the Power Supply Unit is quite an old one then I advice you to even replace the Power Supply Unit if possible.
