| CPU usage problems in Acer Aspire 6920G
Sup people, I am regular player of World of Warcraft. The game is installed on the Acer laptop which I am using. The laptop is installed with Windows Vista operating system and has a Nvidia graphic card. The problem which I am facing is that sometimes the game runs smoothly while sometime the game lags alot. The laptop is powered by Intel dual core processor. Sometimes the CPU usage of the laptop reaches 80% due to which the game starts lagging. Is anybody else facing CPU usage problems in Acer Aspire 6920G, then please share some information about the same. Any suggestions about the issue are welcome. Thanks in advance. |

| Re: CPU usage problems in Acer Aspire 6920G
There must be some processes running in the background which are taking up all the CPU. Many of the applications have some task scheduled in future time. If such task come up while the game is running then it is bound to lag as lot of CPU's processing power will be taken up by the scheduled task. Therefore disable all the scheduled tasks of all the applications. Also before running the game, run open the task manager and see which of the processes are taking up all the CPU. Terminate any unwanted process which is taking up all the CPU and memory usage. After terminating the unwanted processes, run the game and see if it lags. |

The dual core processors are not typically made for gaming. Dual core processors have two processors which are out of sync therefore whenever any application is executed on the computer, both the processors start processing the application which creates problems while running gaming application. Their are many gaming fixes which are available online which can be installed on the computer. The gaming fix disables one of the processor while running game application. You can turn off one of the processor manually while gaming. To turn of one of the processor manually, execute the game and then open the task manager. Go to processes tab and select the process of the game and right click on it. Select set affinity and then remove the check mark from one of the CPU. Click on OK and then resume the game. |

If the operating system is not installed on the computer properly then the user will face the problems with the CPU usage. All the functions that are performed by the computer are controlled by the operating system. If the operating system on the computer is not working properly then the computer will not work properly. If you have the installation disk of the operating system, insert it in the drive and boot the system from the disk. Repair the operating system or reinstall it again. Once the operating system is repaired or reinstalled then you will not face such problem. |

I think the computer is infected by some kind of Virus which is creating such problems. Virus's get downloaded while visiting certain website or while downloading certain data from the internet. Virus's have the tendency to link with the files of the applications which are frequently used. If such a situation occurs then the application whose file is infected will not work properly. Hence scan the system with an updated antivirus and then check if there are any infected files. If there are any infected files then repair or quarantine the files and check if the problem persists. |
