My laptop showing 1.5 GB of RAM instead of 2 GB

Hi everyone, recently I have purchased a new laptop of 64 bit which is having 2 GB RAM. Every thing is working fine in my laptop. But I wonder about when I saw RAM of my laptop is only showing a 1.5 GB but I it is having 2 GB DDR2 RAM. My laptop is installed with windows 7. I want to know how to maximize the RAM memory. Can any one solve my problem please?

This is caused by the only one thing in your system, if you that may you have an onborad AGP graphics are active.The meaning of this is that you have an AGP slot on your motherboard. You can change it by making some modification in BIOS settings. If there is graphics is turn on then off it, I think this will help you to fix your RAM memory problem.

First you have to remove you ram carefully from your motherboard slot by pressing clip which situated at the side of the ram slot on the motherboard. Remove it and then rub and clean with the help of pencil erasing rubbers. And then fix it again carefully by pressing ram on the slot. And then make it sure that fixing clip is set properly. And then restart your computer. Now check it your system is working properly.

You might be by chance running your system capable of double channel memory mode? If it is, than there is probably be the easiest and most logical solution to your problem. The video graphics memory which are only works to integrated video chipsets, so two PCI-E video cards will not having any effect on this problem. They have their own dedicated RAM supply. It's also nothing to do with the limits of a 32-bit OS, since that only comes into play when you EXCEED 3GB of RAM.

If in the BIOS setting sees 2 Gb, then Windows have to display it. Had you check that is has been limited in the boot.ini because of some purpose?

• Go to Start then Run
• Ann then type MSCONFIG anf then press enter.
• Now go to boot.ini tab
• Then click on the advanced options.
• See what it displays about MAXMEM.
• Could be checked and set to 1.5 Gb.
