Power performance of Athlon XP 1800

    Hi,
I am trying to figure out the power performance of Athlon XP 1800. As compare to the older version processor what is new in this Athlon XP 1800. What changes have been made in this processor to give a proper heat insulation and management. Because either we play games or overclock a processor heating is the thing which is an enemy here.

The processor is one of the main components of a computer. It is often called the frequency expressed in Hz, however the frequency is not everything. Indeed, besides its frequency processor is built around an architecture and a set of technologies that make its performance. Thus we can say that the architecture of current Athlon XP is better exploited than Pentium 4 as an Athlon XP 1800 + (1.53 GHz) is equivalent to a Pentium 4 2 GHz.

Then reduce heat dissipation (which is officially around 20%) is one of the highlights of the new Core. The new architecture allows the Athlon XP generate less heat and allowing a rise in greater frequency and installation of ventilation system less bulky and quieter. Athlon XP in many cases is better.

This new architecture enables higher performance with sizeable increases in the number of information processed per clock cycle. Support for SSE instructions and 3D Now.

The cache when it remains unchanged at (128 KB L1 and 256 KB L2), but its management has been improved. Indeed, the pre-fetching can pre-load the data processor said it will need in the L2 cache. The CPU is not ceramic but plastic first to prevent problems from cracks and sink to the stagnation of heat (the plastic is more insulation).

The earnings of a processor compared to the other should be about 20% since the frequency of the AMD-based Core is 20% higher than that based on the Core ThunderBird. The gain in the 3D Mark test is over 1000 points without any changes, this is simply great. This can first be explained by the gain in frequency but with the same graphics card, the gain is not always as evident in these tests as I already explained to GLExcess.
