IDE Primary Master is where the parameters of the hard disk which are entered in the primary master IDE/ATA drive, the first hard drive in a latest IDE computer. View the hard drive section for information on what are the meaning of this terms and how these devices are set up. The different settings for the hard disk are discussed in detail in the IDE Setup / Autodetection. The standard setting for this on a computer with IDE autodetection, are generally "Auto".

Standard settings for Floppy Drive A
You can normally choose this type of floppy drives.

  4. 720 KB: A low-density 3.5" drive.
  5. 360 KB: A low-density 5.25" drive.

  • No Errors: The POST will not going to stop for any type of error. There are recommended type except for very specific cases.
  • All But Keyboard: The process of boot will going to stop for any kind of error except for a keyboard error. And this can be a very useful for setting up a system without a keyboard.

Sequence for booting:

This is the setting for controls the order which the BIOS uses to view for a booting drive through which to boot the operating system at the time the DOS boot process. Older systems do not have this type setting; and they view at the floppy drive first (A and then for the drive (C. Most of the systems will at least make you have a selection between "A:, C:" (the default) and "C:, A:".
