How dual cores processor are better

I need some details on how the dual core processors are better than other. And it is better to use the more advance processors for basic needs or I can switch to the old dual cores only. There are eight core processors also. Is it necessary to use them. what are the specialist of this processor.

Re: How dual cores processor are better

Dual-core processors are essentially two chips in one. Each dual-core chip include the same computing might as today's most advanced chips, but with greatly reduced power requirements. Current chip technology has reached the point where even a insignificant increase in processing muscle would increase the power requirement by an order of magnitude. In this way dual cores processor are better.

Re: How dual cores processor are better

For the better dual cores processor you can have a example, the greatest single-core Pentium processor make use of a utmost of 130 watts. The dual-core Conroe uses 60 watts and can run at quicker speeds. Also, dual-core processors are much less horizontal to overheating and necessitate less cooling. The result is a fast, powerful processor that does not need cooling fans that sound like a regiment of Blackhawk helicopters trying to touch down in the middle of the living room.

Re: How dual cores processor are better

Because of the costs connected with increasing quad-core technology, expect the processors to be moderately luxurious and to show up only in high-end servers and the most elite gaming systems. Intel is working on it. Not content with dual cores, Intel just announced that it will unwrap two quad-core processors Clovertown, intended for servers, and Kentsfield, intended for the gaming enthusiast -- by the end of this year. Intel was originally predictable to unveil its quad-core chips in early 2007, but the date was pushed up to compete with rival AMD.

Computing technology will have accomplished a level where it becomes possible to produce an eight-core processor for use in high-end servers. Technology at semiconductor investigate and consulting company Semico Research. At that point, mass production of four-core chips will become cheap sufficient for Joe and Jane Shopper to have one in their home computer or laptop. You could see 16-core processors by 2010, but that we should expect pricing to remain consistent with today's.

Re: How dual cores processor are better

If you are thinking to but a computer with one of the new Intel chips, how long before my rocket-fast system starts to feel like an AMC Pacer. Considering that reviewers are calling Conroe "the fastest chip they have ever seen," almost certainlynot for a while. The chip arms race does seem to be gaining momentum, as evidenced by Intel's surprise advancement of the release date for its quad-core chips and AMD's announced rollout of a new processing method.

Re: How dual cores processor are better

There are several advantages to having a dual core processor. The first advantage is that your computer will use less energy and deliver more total performance from both its cores than a single high performance chip design. The second is that dual core processor caches will perform better than a two chip design. You will also need less space requirements, since the die for the dual cores are printed on one chip. There is no need to create two separate chips, thus saving space. Another advantage is that the technology is very reliable and has been tried and tested. Dual core processors will likely continue to have an excellent reputation due to their stable and reliable design.
