1.2 GHz AMD Athlon 64 L110 OR 1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Solo.??

I want to buy a netbook so please guide me..!! There are two options in front of me. Should I go for 1.2 GHz AMD Athlon 64 L110 or 1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Solo. I am getting the options in Gateway and Acer. Since I don't know much about the boards I thought to ask the technical guys. Hope that you will help me by suggesting the best option for me..

According to me you should look for 1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Solo which should be significantly faster when compared to the other one. Also I am having an Acer laptop and I am getting a good response from the Service Center, if I face any problem. So I would like to suggest you to go for Acer with 1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Solo (I don't know about the after sale service of Gateway). I think that this will be better option.

I also think that buying the 1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Solo will be the wise decision. Since it is superior when compared to the other. Also the Core 2 Solo has newer architecture which makes it more strong while selecting in the options that you have mentioned. So even I think that you should go for 1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Solo.

You have not mentioned what applications you are going to use.? If you are using any big applications or some games then you should definitely go for the 1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Solo. If you would be using some simple applications along with the game than the 1.2 GHz AMD Athlon 64 L110 will suite your scenario. Since there is price difference you can also think of 1.2 GHz AMD Athlon 64 L110 if you are using the basic application.

It totally depends upon the application that you are going to use. If you are using the applications like 3D Max, Auto-Cad, etc then I would suggest you to go for 1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Solo. Otherwise you can go for 1.2 GHz AMD Athlon 64 L110 for the simple applications. You can go for Acer or Gateway anyone, that depends on your look. Acer provides good service but the Gateway got the nice looks. So selecting anyone of them will not matter, the only thing that will matter is your processor.
