A POST error message will only display on screen if the computer is capable of booting this far. Beep Code 1-1-2 : Meaning : Faulty CPU/motherboard.If the POST detects an error before this point, a beep code or POST code will be generated instead.

2 beeps is a parity error. Memory needs to be reseated or it is bad and needs to be replaced. The computer POST (Power On Self Test) tests the computer, When a device fails the first part of the POST, the BIOS will send a series of beeps from the PC's speaker (internal) to inform the PC user that there is a problem.

Remove everything from the back of the computer except the power cable. Turn on the computer and see if it beeps normally. There are 2 main beep codes for the Award BIOS: one long beep and two short beeps - Video error (reseat or replace video card) two short beeps - Non-Fatal Error (reseat RAM, check other components). If the computer has never beeped keep the monitor or display connected to see if any change occurs.
