First of all Does your motherboard support triple channel.Just because a CPU has 3 memory controllers, does not mean the motherboard supports it.If you can run dual-channel, that should be plenty with you'r system. Have you did that many swaps. this also the create problem for supporting triple channel.Check with your CPU if it's faulty then it does not support three channel. check with your manufacturer. concerned with your system engginer.

Re: Need help with i7 setup not accepting triple channel

Some people use 1 and 1gb together on one channel, and 2 and 2 gb together on another, to form a 6GB dual-channel setup. But you can't run one set of dual-channel and one of single-channel on the same motherboard. There was also a BIOS update from ASUS that was supposed to correct this issue.Try with a different CPU. Borrow one or something, it doesn't matter which as long as the motherboard supports it. Even one of the same type will do, of course. But it being the CPU is a long shot, even 2 defect motherboards is probably more likely.

Check with you'r motherboard is it supporting or not. DDR3 1333 and 1600 isn’t supported officially on Bloomfield. I think Lynnfield supports DDR3 1333 officially though.
Other then the BIOS update you might want to try DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) settings to see if it helps. You should be able to run tri at faster speeds but its worth a shot.change slots to 246 and update the bios.Try it works definitely.
