| Intel X25-M G2 version issue
I'm running Windows 7 on my system. Recently i had bought a new Intel X25-M G2. But the problem is that i got 1.8" version instead of getting 2.5" version. I would like to know that is there any performance difference? Will my new Intel X25-M G2 1.8" version would perform same as 2.5 version? Let me know your suggestion on the above issue. Thanks in advance. |

| Re: Intel X25-M G2 version issue
The Intel X25-M G2 comes in a standard 2.5-inch form factor and SATA interface. Compared to its previous 50nm version, the new Intel X25-M on 34nm offers decreased latency and faster random write Input/Output Operations Per Second (IOPS) than its 50nm predecessor. |

| Re: Intel X25-M G2 version issue
It applies to G2 drives because no such update is planned for the G1 (last year's model) drives. Most notebooks made in the past couple of years support SATA drives, though some ultraportable and thin-and-light systems such as the Lenovo ThinkPad T400s use 1.8-inch drives instead. Those who have Intel X-25 "G1" drives won't be able to take advantage of TRIM. |
