    Motherboard for older Core2Quad

    Hi,

I'm putting together a gaming rig (nothing fancy, just something that can handle CMRiRT, Crysis and CoD4). I don't want to splurge on the i7 so I'd be happy with a mobo that:

    a. supports upto Core2Quad
    b. DDR2 or DDR3 memory
    c. 2 PCIe 2.0 slots with SLI support

    I'd appreciate suggestions.

    Cheers!

    Mayank

You can go for MSI P6N SLI Platinum LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard, It costs around : Rs. 5600/-

Thanks again RudraJ. I notice this board has two PCIe x16 slots. Most cards these days say they need PCIe x16 2.0 slots. Will this make any difference? I mean is there a performance degradation when running a PCIe 2.0 card on a PCIe 1.0 slot?

Yes performance will get low when PCIe 2.0 card runs on on a PCIe 1.0 slot as requirement for pcie 2.0 card is more and can be fulfill with PCIe 2.0 slot..

Yes, 'x' is related to speed of data that is transfered per unit time. also MSI P6N SLI Platinum LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard is SLI ready... Approx price Rs.5500/-
