Adding memory to Dell Dim 2400

    Hello friends,

I using a Dell Dimension 2400 with 250 MB.It seems crawling my computer often so planing to upgrade it to 512. How easy is it to do this. I have never
opened the case. Is the memory easy to access is it right there or
would I also have to remove something else to get to it.

    any thoughts?

I know that many of Dells have two or three screws holding the left side of the case on. Remove them, slide the side of the case off, there aren't too methods to get it wrong putting memory in. But some have an extraordinarily stupid way of opening the case like it's a clam shell. If there's a big plastic button toward the back of the case on top, there's a corresponding one on the bottom. Push them both in at the same time and open it.

I think it depends.. memory you add depends on what you are willing to get rid of..throw away, or save. You have 2*128. I would recommend that
you but 2* 256 0r 512. Pull the 2*128 a..you never know when you may need them. Crucial gives a lifetime warrant and I have never had trouble with anything in all these years.Get them cheaper elsewhere

Listen Before you take the cover off, confirm the machine is turned off and usually unplugged or the power strip is turned off.Take static electricity precautions so that you don't zap the new memory or something else inside.
The ram will only suit one way, so ensure to check the indent(s) on the new
stick and match it to the slot you are putting it in.
