Error 0175 bad crc1

I'm having an IBM Thnkpad T20 laptop on which i had installed Windows Xp as my operating system. Recently my checksum became corrupted, when i start my IBM Thinkpad T20 laptop it doesn't even get to the bootup stage. It shows an error: " 0175 : Bad CRC1 on my system. Can any body tell me that how do i get rid of the above issue? Kindly provide me the correct solution for the above issue.

In some rare cases there really is a problem with the system board and the CRC checksum routine. CRC errors are usually repairable without the replacement of the system board.

In order to get rid of the above issue, you need to follow the below steps mention.

1) Keep on rebooting your laptop until this error goes away.

2) Replace the BIOS battery, it maybe nearly worn out. After replacement you need to go into the BIOS setting to set the Date & Time.

Try to visit the official IBM website, there you can get the exact solution for the above issue. Or you can try restarting your computer a couple of times after you get the error message. If you want you can also clear CMOS and change the CMOS battery. All this happens way before the OS start so the problem has to be within CMOS.
