Intel DP43TF hangs if more than 6GB is installed

I recently built a new system using the Intel DP43TF mobo and a core 2 duo cpu. I installed 64 bit version of Win 7 RC. It works great as long as I only install 6GB or RAM. If I put in the 4th stick (all matched pairs) it gets
to the "starting windows" screen sits a few seconds, the screen goes black and 15 or so seconds later the cursor shows up but nothing else.

Also, when I install the 8GB it shows in the BIOS correctly. I thought it
might need an update so I the latest version (0086) and I got the window
that said the BIOS was updated correctly, but the old version still shows
in the BIOS screen. Any ideas? TIA

    Possible causes for this:
    - different memory module speed.
    - wrong population of memory - for example if you have different memory module with different speed, populate the lower one first and move further.
    - memory not on the Intel tested and validated list.

So based on that, check which one could be eliminated first and see which is applicable to your scenario.
As a test, try each module and see if the speed is showing correctly in the BIOS.
Then populate like for like module and check the speed in the BIOS.
Try different combination as a test.

Try switching the memory slots. Is it your new motherboard? If yes, the best thing can be done is take to intel service center. Tell them you problem and keep in mind that you don't tell them that you have used the parts that are not in the compatibility list. If you do so, your warrant goes -BOOM-!! All the best

Have you checked the specification of the fourth memory stick your are trying to put. The Intel DP43TF motherboard support only DDR2 RAM. It supports DDR2 800 MHz and DDR2 667 MHz Memory. It is compatible upto 8GB of RAM but only if it complaint to the motherboard specification.

The memory sticks are 2 matched sets of Crucial PC6400 (800MHz).
I have tried all 4 sticks in all 4 slots in every combination possible.
All works fine except when all 4 are installed.
