processor choices for dell dimension 3000

I bought a second hand Dell Dimension 3000 just 1 month back. It was good for performing some small task like playing 2d games and surfing net but when I tried to play 3d games it wouldnt let me even start the game. So i purchased a Sapphire X300 256MB graphic card but it wasnt compatible with the slot that it was having which was PCI Slot and to be precise I later on found out that it doesnt have either of the AGP slot or the PCI-e slot. So I think I need to upgrade its whole component, like the mobo and processor as well. So can anyone please suggest me a good motherboard and processor for dell dimension 3000? Thank you

For your graphic card problem there are many decent PCI video cards available depending on the game, this may be all you need.
PCI GeForce FX 5700LE
It should be able to run all the latest games, though you won't be able to crank up the graphics.

You will not be able to use a PCI-E card in the Dimension 3000. Your choices are very limted on PCI videocards and the performance increase is not worth the money that a new card will cost you. You could go with a 512mb PCI card but with the slow celeron processor and and low end power supply. You still will not be able to play of the new games that are out right now. It's time for a new computer.
