Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 or Core 2 Duo E8500

Hi,

Here I want to change configuration of my pc and move from Atlhon 3500 to intel processors. I am taking intel for video editing and games as the new Prince Of Persia, Oblivion and others and especially the use of CAD design with SolidWorks 2008. I hesitate between Q6600 = $ 170 and E8500 = $ 195. Which of the above 2 processors choose for this work: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 or Core 2 Duo E8500, and what type of memory card to a motherboard.

Well, it depends on your use. As you're editing video, I recommend the Q6600, despite recording in 65nm and a set of instruction unless the E8500 I think. Despite this you gain in power . Prefer the G. Skill ram PC8500PK in, I 2x2Go this ram on the same motherboard as yours, and it is impeccable. 2 GB is sufficient.

For a gamer the E8500 without hesitation, for editing video, photo, multimedia quad sufficient , I think a quad you would be more useful since you do video editing and you use SolidWorks. But what is your budget for the processor because the Q6600 is beginning to do this old.

So much for the overclock and games, the E8500 is better for overclock it is engraved in 45nm, so it is already less heat, and then as everyone has said, the Q6600 is especially for multitasking, it is still able to run Crysis on Very High.
