Xps 420 maximum memory

I'm planning to but the new Xps 420 which gives out the maximum memory power. I have heard that it can support beyond 4 Gb memory. Now i would like to know that upto what limit does Xps 420 can support maximum memory on it? Does any body knows about it? Kindly provide me the correct information on the above issue. Would be grateful to you if any body provides me the correct information on the above issue.

According to my best of knowledge, if you are running Windows Vista 32 bit on your machine then its 3 Gb maximum otherwise you can expand it to 8 Gb if you are running Windows Vista 64 bit on your machine.

These desktop computers feature quad-core processors, oodles of RAM, and respectable system components, and are relatively affordable to boot. You will definitely want to run Vista 64bit so the OS can address all 6GB. I'm running Vista 64bit Home Premium on my XPS 410 with 4GB of RAM and it runs great.

Yes, you can hold up to 8GB. However, keep in mind that if your running Windows XP or lower the OS will only recognize a maximum of 3GB. Just make sure you have 64bit drivers. All of my software runs on Vista 64bit. Most of it is 32bit but runs fine on the 64bit platform.
