Hey nice to know you want a motherboard compatible to your DDR2 ram & again you want a processor for the same.
I know you are thinking of a super monster computer that will enable you gaming 24/7.

many p965 and 650i/680i motherboard can support ddr2 ram via the overclocking/tweaking options in their bios. unless you plan to seriously OC (and have the necessary patience), a good ddr2-800 kit can perform equally well as the crucial kit. Straight CPU comparisons don’t really mean too much for gaming at the moment, because it’s mostly down to fast RAM and video cards, so you’re more tied to getting a board which can handle those, rather than just picking a CPU and building the machine around that.

Get the fastest CPU you can afford, because then you’re in with more of a chance of having upgradeable kit in the future, for longer (if you see what I mean), like the i7 core processor and you can also check out comparison of motherboard for i7 processors.
