CPU temperature monitoring in Ubuntu 8.04

    hello to all,

I installed lm-sensors and sensors-applet to monitor the temp of my CPU
(motherboard ASUS A7N8X-X and CPU AMD Athlon XP 2000 +)

    Unfortunately, the values are false:

    Bios: cpu temp = 43-44 ° c

    lm-sensors: CPU Temp (AMD): 25 ° c
    CPU temp (intel): 30 ° c

I do not know what the CPU temp (intel)??

Apparently a lot of world to problems with the value returned by lm-sensors but I have not found a solution to my problem ...

Does lm-sensors is inadequate? is there a more appropriate software to monitor the temp of my CPU?

thank you in advance for your help

The temperature given by computertemp, is it not enough when it comes to take a look at the beast.

Perso I load lm-sensors, hddtemp, gnome-sensors-applet to get the icon to the dashboard, it displays the temperature in real time, next to the charge of the trial, and it is not bulky.

I may be wrong, but have you tried "Notebook Hardware Control"?

    http://www.pbus-167.com/

This gives the temperature and adjusts the settings, all in free, the paid version has some functions in addition of course.

I installed computertemp (and all its dependencies ) and I added the applet in gnome

In preferences, as a choice for the problem I just use kernel i2c sensors "
for the sensor I have to choose between:
    - Hwmon0 (1)
    - Hwmon0 (2)
    - Hwmon0 (3)
    - Hwmon0 (4)
    - Hwmon1 (1)
unfortunately I do not know what they are and no one gives me a correct value.

For GKrellM, you must add the plugins! the difference comes from the setting sequence sensors.
