Problem with 2Core1333DVI-2.66G and SATA disks

    Hello,
    After installing a motherboard since WD740GD (74GB, SATA I) SATA1 a WD3200AAKS (320GB, SATA II) SATAII, a WD5000AAKS (500GB, SATA II) SATAIII and a CD-Rom on IDE port as master.

2 weeks ago it failed at 7GB disk service, ie it appeared at boot error code 0078 lower right and everything stopped. So i removed plate on which Windows is installed 320GB, because the "broken" disk containing the OS.

Last week, then return to the 0078 report, is nothing more, the 320GB disk is defective. any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi,

I would try the bios update or the same version to flash again, perhaps try another power supply (?)

Maybe it's a problem of electrostatic charge in the frame whick screwed up everything so unplug the computer push on button for 1 minute and put it back on power.

Please try to test with very different SATA cables. The 0078 error code is directly on problems with the IDE / SATA drives out. According to the official FAQ is the tip of the SATA cable and exchange (with a SATA 1 motherboard) on the plates 1 to SATA jumpers. The new SATA cable you've tested, these are the cables which accompanied the board? If so, try if possible once very different cables.

Otherwise, of course, a defect of the MB can not be excluded. Are the SATA ports working?
