Cabinet front audio ports

If I disable the onboard sound card on a intel dg 31pr motherboard and put a creative sound blaster 5.1 card on a PCI slot, will the front audio jacks become disabled or I need to connect the creative connectors to it

I don't think that it will disable the front audio ports,even though its not at all concerned to the which port it is connected to,it automatically open available ports to it.

There is a header connection to for connecting to front audio ports headset mic etc , Hopefully though the connector from your case will already fit the connector on the card. if not then you will have to find the pinouts online. Hopefully that answer your questions.

You need to connect the creative connectors because once you disable the on-board sound card, front audio jacks also becomes disabled.....

But will my creative sound blaster 5.1 have such connectors , it is a 6 year old card
