    Intel I7 and DDR3 ram

    Hi,
Question to those who already have a 920 INTEL I7! About the RAM and saw the price:

    Corsair TR3X 3 x 2 Go DDR3 PC12800 CAS 9 Corsair TR3X 3 x 2 Go DDR3 PC12800 CAS 9

    Corsair TR3X 3 x 2 Go DDR3 PC10600 CAS 9 Corsair TR3X 3 x 2 Go DDR3 PC10600 CAS 9

I would therefore like to spend my I7 of 20 to 133MHz x 20 x 166 and I wanted to know if 10600 running a 1333MHz enough or not? I confess myself lost in 1333 with the 133 . with my old 2600 + is much simpler it runs a 166MHz and ram also. What I saw yesterday on a site that has boosted I7 even 4GHz would not need a ram 1600MHz I would like confirmation?

Normally, the coefficient RAM may be 6, which is 6 * 222 Mhz = 1333 Mhz
This means that the maximum permitted by the BClock (or by the QPI is limited to 4 GHz or 8 GT / s), a RAM 1333 Mhz (PC 10600) is sufficient.

Now, if the mini coefficient allowed is 8, what surprises me, a RAM 1775 Mhz (PC 14400) will be needed to overclock Max permitted by the core i7 920, ie for a frequency processor 4.44 coefficient 20 GHz.

For your case, BClock of 166 Mhz, RAM 1000 Mhz (PC 8000) is largely sufficient for a coefficient RAM 6.

Yes, it's safe, kit to buy the RAM, buy as much of the good RAM, but on the limit baseclock - RAM is always interesting to know that the little fast RAM is compatible with overclocking (for a both). For RAM, it is preferable to the OCZ DDR3 3 x 1 GB PC12800 Platinum Edition 7 cases, the Gskill NQ is worth less than before the coup (the price dropped to less than the OCZ).The OCZ is little more expensive.
