Asus p5q installation problems

I install my new P5Q and I have some question.

1 . I have a 2x2gb DDR2 667mhz but it is ECC, that functions? (I am not badly on not but I put my question nevertheless).
2. I have one to connect 12v on the motherboard with 8pin and there is a stopper on the 4 last pine. Thus in which case one has to use the 4 pine or the 8pin?

Format the drive before you try to install on it. MAke sure IDE settings in Bios and your jumpers are correct. Tried with another disc, and with another dvd-rom drive, and still the same...could it be a mobo malfunction?
