    Q9550 vs i7 920 for future games

    hi,
I know that this time there were no substantive differences between them about their performance in games. Even in games that exploit 4 cores are equivalent.but Which one is best?Any recommendations and suggestions are appreciated.

    hi,
i7, more so for multi gpu setups...when you start talking about tri/quad sli/cf i7 has a nice boost over core 2 quad. mainly because i7 is on the low side 16.7% faster per clock... since 90% of the time your only going to be using 2 cores.

Additional games to be little between Q9550 and i7 ...... and was not due to more processing power ...... but in the immediate RESPONSE.

    hi,
If you spend all your money now on a great graphics card, in a few years you'll want an i7 with all the required things that go with that.

And a 9800GT IMO is great for gaming right now. Stuff like 4870x2 is more for futureproofing, which you wouldn't be doing if you went with the Q9550.
