What do you want? Install XP or Vista? If it is Vista (especially if it is a DVD with SP1 included), there's a good chance that the driver is already included.
I am not familiar with motherboards based on nVidia chipset so I do not know if there are settings in the BIOS as Intel (IDE / AHCI / Raid). Otherwise, the drivers are available on the CD that came with the motherboard or the manufacturer's website.
In fact I believe we must unpack the driver of nvidia AHCI on a USB key and then do a manual load during installation. Indeed according to Vista, my DD sata II is seen as a Sata I, first generation. I thought that both AHCI enabled in the bios, install the drivers for the motherboard installed the AHCI drivers (as in P45 intel). Nvidia chipsets do not seem to work like that.

In fact, the driver put on a USB key and load it during installation of Vista is needed only if the driver is not included in Vista because it is necessary to load the driver so that Vista can recognize the hard drive .
But nothing prevents to update the driver then once Vista is installed.
Otherwise though it often uses the term "SATA II" it does not really exist
yes it's just because I just reinstall windows with the driver on a USB key and it changes nothing! seemed much more clear on Intel chipsets ....
In fact the problem was my hard drive Maxtor 22 diamon max and his jumper limiting transfers Sata 1 mode. Once elevated, everything changed in Sata 2!
