On the other hand, the flagship Phenom II X4 940 sees its clock speed bumped up to 3.0GHz, and also features an unlocked multiplier a la "Black Edition" Phenom processors of the past.

This particular CPU should retail for around $40 more than the Phenom II 920 in the US, with an expected price of $275.

Of course, no doubt there will be more Phenom II parts on the way as the year progresses, not only in the form of DDR3 capable, Socket AM3 CPUs but also X3 triple-core parts and the like.

The new Quad-Core Q8300 comes in at 2.5GHz and sports a front side bus (FSB) of 1333MHz and 4MB of L2 cache. The new chip comes in just above the Q8200 which clocks at 2.33GHz and shares similarities with the Q9300. Estimated pricing for the Q8300 come in at US$224.
