Gigabyte Motherboard won't post with 8gb Ram

    hi,
Just got new hardware:Intel P4 3.0ghz w/ htCooler ,Master CPU Cooler,Gigabyte GA-EG43M-S2H,Kingston 512MBx2 (PC3200),ATi Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb,Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2.System refuses to post with all 4 sticks of Corsair in. It posts every time with 2 sticks running dual channel. Tested all 4 sticks. It posted when I tried 4 sticks of OCZ 512mb 800mhz OCZ2P8001GK.apable of handling 8GB 800mhz of ram 1.8v.I tried updating the BIOS... still won't post. I get continuous beeps which is suppose to mean a power issue, which doesn't make sense really (maybe it does?)

You will need to make BIOS adjusments to run this (and you have Corsair, which, along with Kingston, account for ninety-odd percent of RAM problems w/GB MOBOs); the first thing to do is download a copy of MemTest86+
and burn the .iso to a bootable CD; then, put 1 stick at a time into slot 1, and boot/run MemTest overnight on each stick - this will qualify the RAM and tell you whether the sticks themselves are OK. If they all test OK, post back, and I'll try to walk you through BIOS tweaking...

    Hi,
i have had similar problems with gigabyte motherboards. My problem resulted after i tried to update my bios with a corrupt file, my comp did exactly what yours did. Unplug your psu from your motherboard to ensure its not getting any power and unplug your mobo battery for at least 10 minutes and that should work. If not, make sure you have disconnected all power to the mobo, take out the mobo battery and use a wire to connect the - & + together on the battery socket.
