| difference between the frequencies of DDR3 RAM
Hello all I came here for your opinion. Is that if I put in DDR3 strips of 1066MHz will I feel a difference in performance with slides that run in 1300 or 1600? My experience with the ddr2 leaves me skeptical. I have not overclocked yet. Thank you |

There is not really a high gain, only till 0.0001%

The "3" in "DDR3" stands for "3rd generation", so in order to get the actual DRAM frequency, whether for DDR or DDR2 or DDR3, the formula is still the same: "/2", not "/3" From what I heard (sry all I got recently are bunches of AMD CPU's ), the formula for Intel Q9xxx family and DDR3 is "DDR3 frequency /4 = CPU FSB".

DDR3 is designed to support much higher frequencies than DDR2. But the DDR - Double Data Rate - design is the same: the memory is active on the positive and negative side of the clock |
