    Processor unstable since ATI 4870

    Here is my config:

    CPU: E8200@3.6 GHz core: 1.42v, VTT: 1.30v, MCH: 1.45
    Motherboard: Abit P35 Pro
    Ram: G. Skill PC8500 DDR2 @ 1080mhz 2.125v
    Graphics card: Sapphire 4870 512mb
Power Supply: Blue Storm 500W, good power except in cases of stress cpu + 3d application I down to 11.84 on the 12v.
    HDD: 2 x 80GB in raid 0, 1 x 250GB Storage
    1 DVD Player
    A USB PCi
A wireless network card Pci Express
    4 Fans + LED module

OS: Windows Vista Ultimate 64 Bit

Now talking about the problem itself. With my 9600GT before my processor was running perfectly at the frequency indicated above with the same voltages. But since I had my 4870, I noted errors in occt, and SP2004 CPU Stress MT and blue screens (just under occt) with a driver error "Uguru".

I tried to raise voltages, nothing has changed. Apart my graphics card I have changed my operating system (I was on XP) and I made a bios update of my motherboard, I do not think the problem comes from there.

Power supply issue? Latest bios for my motherboard unstable to oc?

I suppose it could be the power supply related issue. Just try to change it and see if it solves the issue.

Re: Processor unstable since ATI 4870

    Little update to my issue:

Yet the graphics card LEDs are green, I would be sure that the power supply is concerned but I have nothing more powerful in the hand. Also I have artifacts or texture bug on GTA IV, the more I put the quality of textures, the more I have bug.

Changed power supply with a PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610W. I have never been as stable voltages but none of my problems have disappeared.

The bug in GTA IV graphics are not due to the graphics card or the power supply (must be the game in any way) and the processor is still unstable and is especially making me mad.

So I'll ask the question differently, which could bring my processor which remained stable for a year, plant like this?

    - Even by changing the power supply, the vCore drops; why?
    - 3D mark 18h passed, but orthos CPU stress or MT plant. (hard error in orthos and the screen freezes CPU under stress)

Do your old power supply had proper voltages? Saying straight away 11.84V is not the alarm. For your vCore drop which is normal, your cpu is soliciting. Therefore activate something in bios in order to compensate for this vCore drop. ASUS is on Loadline calibration on Abit, I have no idea

For me, your OC is more stable, just a drop your 3.4GHz frequency, allows the same vCore and it should roll.

You can also try to iron your PC6400 ram in during the test.

Under occt, the Linpack is done?

    Thank you for your help

I tested my memory with memtest for 10h without error and I try to switch to PC6400 but it changes nothing.

I have not tried the option of Linpack occt, what is it?

It is a more advanced test for core 2 duo/quad. It is in fact the equivalent of Intel burn test. If you does not occt, you might not Linpack (which is also much work the processor, and consequently increases more heat).
Bug for under GTA 4, could be the bug in the game.
