Which processor upgrade for my E8400?

I'm looking for a good 775 processor upgrade for my E8400. I tried a Xeon 3210 which is very attractive for its price / quality ratio, but I am a bit afraid of losing exchange with games and MAO. What do you think?

This processor does not suit you?

As for games even if you pass in Intel Q9550, your gain will be minimal fps.
When the Xeon, this type of processor is still meant to pro machines such as servers

Intel Core2Duo E8400 CPU is an excellent and like Emilia , I'm not sure a QuadCore bring you much more (except in special cases: 2D/3D graphics, audio creation, video editing and some games Recent and especially GTA4).

I do not think make a full application would be appropriate here, I did change the processor. I have special needs, those of a home studio on Windows XP x64. A Xeon is it in this case more appropriate than E8400?
