What are all advantages in motherboard ASUS P5Q-E in compare with ASUS P5Q?

    hi,
i had ASUS M3A - motherboard,it is currently not working...I want my new motherboard to be, AT LEAST, on par with this...(I know the asus ASUS P5Q-E already has one more Ram slot, which is nice, considering I do have 3 sticks of Ram at home.)So, does the ASUS P5Q-E sound like a solid replacement option, or is it a bit too weak?? What does that Asus board have that my Foxconn doesn't? I would say that the ASUS P5Q is everything the ASUS P5Q-E is, but with one extra Ram slot.....I'm just wondering if that is an incorrect conclusion.Any help will be extremely appreciated.

There is a comparison of the two you asked about. The P5Q-e has 2 PCIEx16 slots for crossfire, the other doesn't... But the "e" doesn't have but 1 PCI slot vs the P5Q's 2 PCI slots...
If you are going just for the 1 PCIEx16 slot then you can use this board for a little less money, but I own this board with a q6600 and a 4870 and overclocks very well. The only thing you can do on the other boards you cannot on my board is use DDR2 1200. But that ram is very expensive even compared to DDR2 1066 ram...

    hi,
How much memory your Windows OS will recognize depends on which version of Windows you are running. 32-bit versions of Windows will see (and utilize) only 3GB or 3.5GB. To utilize more memory, install a 64-bit version of your OS.Adding the maximum amount of memory will improve performance and help extend the useful life of your system as you run increasingly demanding software applications in the future.

ASUS P5Q-E: 4 x DIMM, max. 16GB, DDR2 1200/1066/800/667MHz, non-ECC, un-buffered memory,Dual channel memory architecture,When installing total memory of 4GB capacity or more, Windows® 32-bit operation system may only recognize less than 3GB. Hence, a total installed memory of less than 3GB is recommended.
ASUS P5Q: The motherboard supports DDR2 memory that features data transfer rates of 1200/1066/800/667 MHz to meet the higher bandwidth requirements of the latest operation system, 3D graphics, multimedia, and Internet applications. The dual-channel DDR2 architecture doubles the bandwidth of your system memory to boost system performance, eliminating bottlenecks with peak bandwidths of up to 19.2GB/s.
