How to deal with system crash?

I have just bought the new vostro 220 two days before and i am really frustrated.
System crashes all the time.The blue memory screen is continuosly appearing. Also,when i try to restart it,it wont shutdown or shut it down when we leave. just sits on the "shutting down" window for hours. literally.
I've only added itunes, picasa, and FF.
What should Ido now? Relly stuck up.

What is your System configuration and Operating system installed? Your machine would still be under warranty, so why not go to the service center instead? Would not void your warranty too...! Please provide complete information for better help.
