ASUS Motherboard Does not Recognise Internal Card Reader

    hi

I have recently bought an ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe PCI Express Mainboard and the problem I am facing is my new internal card reader does not work with it. The computer just won't boot up when it is been plugged in.

Now it is is irritating me as it does not work, Is Socket 939 defunct now? Can I buy a different kind or does that depend on the rest of my specification?

    Please help me with this

    your suggestion will be appreciated

What OS are you using ? It is possible it is relying on the OS
to enumerate the interfaces on the USB and an older OS might not
    understand a card reader.

I guess it's not your mobo detecting, but your OS. Maybe it's a good
idea to tell what OS you're using.

Finally, found some drivers here. Try these, before going for the
BIOSUNLOCK one. this driver will help your motherboard to rcognise your internal card reader and thus installing once would make your card reader easily detected as you plug in each time.

Hi, Depending on the brand and model of the motherboard, your concern is indicative that the SATA is not enabled. Pls enable, save and exit, reboot. Thereafter enter CMOS/BIOS again to auto/manually detect. Hope this be of initial help/idea.

Open you're manual for the PC. Find an opened USB port & plug you're card reader on the pins. Match the pins with the card reader connector. Card readers can & do use different connectors. (USB, PCI & SATA). If you list the name & model of you're card reader, I can be more specific.
You should have received a small quick guide with the card reader.
