I have 800MHz FSB and running 533MHz (PC 4200) RAM. This machine not run better using 800MHz (PC 6400) RAM thereby matching the RAM speed to the FSB speed ?

If your board supports dual channel mode, you would need to get a 1 GB stick that closely matches the specs of the one you already have. You may find that what you have is PC 4200 & it may be 2 x 512MB rather than a single 1 GB stick.
You don't actually match the RAM to the processor. Rather you match the RAM to the MB. Find what the MB's maximum supported RAM speed is and get the RAM to match it.
fsb might not even be compatible with PC 4200 ram but as far as my limited understanding of the subject goes you do not want your comps bandwidth to get bottle necked and it will happen just one stick runing you at 266mhz i belive the bandwith is slashed in half.
