| What is the temperature difference between Core 0 and Core 1 ?
My processor is an Intel Core 2 Duo 8500. Today I mounted a new psu and rebooting my pc, and monitoring my temperature, I see that in my two Core, there is a huge difference when I have no application launched greedy! My Core 0 is 30 °C, while my Core 1 is 38 °C!! So is this normal? |

The core 1 has worked more than the Core 2 during boot, and 8 °C does not seem shocking. And probes are not with 100% accuracy. In short relax. |

Are you sure? I have read, I do not know, 5 degrees of temperature difference between the two Core's is not at all good! |

It is normal that the cores are not necessarily the same load, especially in non-optimized apps I think. Sometimes I even have 10° difference, and my CPU, more than 1 year of age, does not complain |

This is common. It is usually caused by an uneven spread of thermal paste when the heatsink was squished down. My cores differ by 3°C, and that took a couple remounts. |

They can never be the same as they are not in the same spot on the dice. However, you could remove the heat spreader and optimise the cooling to gain about 5°C in total. But there might be a chance of a core crack when you do so. |
