Hi.
I have a machine I built a couple of years ago using an ASUS P5PE-VM mobo.
It's running XP, 1gig RAM, couple of hard drives etc
Generally it runs fine, *except* that the USB side of things is not so good. The on-board stuff seems to be very touchy, I can make the machine switch off if I plug a USB soundcard into it (for example).
I eventually put a PCI card in with four extra USB sockets so that I have some reliability (plugging in external hard rives, sound cards, sound controllers etc).
Is it possible that the USB part of the Mobo is just not working properly, or maybe the power supply not beefy enough? Or?
Advice appreciated,
