    angry RAM Problem

I am using a PC for 5 years. My PC configaration is 80 GB HDD(PATA), 1 GB( 512 X 2 ) Memory (333MHZ, DDR). 2.4 GHZ Processor. 865 Biostar Motherboard.(At first I had 845 Mercury Motherboard). The problem is that At first I had 512 RAM. Before a month i had bought another 512 Mb Stick. to speed up my PC. But it worst my money. my computer is slowing down now. Every Time it hangs for some minute. after some time it is processing. In Short term i can say that 1gb Speed is less than 512Mb Ram speed in my PC. What is The Solution of the problem.

Well can you tell us the specifications of your new 512mb RAM stick? IS it DDR 300mhz?

Your motherboard manual must indicate the ram support please check the details by the time & let us know about your new ram stick.

I guess the frequency of the new RAM does not match Old one this would be the basic reason for your PC getting slow.

    Re: RAM Problem

the new memory stick that you have might be not with same frequency as your old memory stick. due to frequency mismatch there is conflict so try this to check the problem
    1. keep on motherboard old stick and remove new one turn on pc and check
    2. turn off pc remove old stick and put new one start pc

now if for both individual ram pc working fine then change your new stick to compatible frequency

I guess friend you should have concerned your computer dealer regarding this.
as per your motherboard, it's 5 year old it's not an issue but the hard drive space is an issue........
you are running 80 gb HDD so definitely 1 gb will make your pc stranded so i guess spend some more and buy 120 gb HDD and you can easily run your 1 GB stick on it............

    Re: RAM Problem

My New RAM is 333MHZ similar than the first one, and my motherboard supports upto 400MHZ. When My PC starts BIOS Configaration page says that both RAMs are 333 MHZ and (DUAL MODE ENABLED). Thats i am sure that Both RAMs does not mismatch.

    Re: RAM Problem

Try to make an even figure like : 1GB, 2GB always avoid 1.5GB when your RAM exceed 1GB . That is try and use the memory in the multiples of 2, might help you. Try it out!
