    DDR2 1066 @ 400 FSB slower than DDR2 800 @ 400 FSB

    hi,
    i have 2x 2 GB OCZ Reaper DDR2 1066 CL 5, and bought my old 2x1 Gb OCZ DDR2 800 Platinum Rev 2 CL4,Then I measured times Everest Ultimate 4.60, and strange experiences: OCZ DDR2 800 4-4-4-15 = 8090 MB / s read ,OCZ DDR2 1066 4-4-4-20 = 7500 MB / s read .So slow ... why?Both with 400 FSB (= 800),Q6600 400X8 = 3.2 Ghz Can one explain to me where the mistake lies?

    hi,
Read are inaccurate, totally irrelevant, just for good benchmarks - in games makes nothing you will notice absolutely no difference.look at the TRD or performance level. Perhaps when the 1066 is too high. Poste times the values for 800 and 1066 Mhz.

If you have exactly the same timing set up should be limited to small measurement errors the same results get out, because the FSB is still unchanged. I would read 5-10 times out ... maybe gabs with one measurement with 7500MB / s system requests. On an Intel system, the timing hardly noticeable On the Socket 775 is a divider than 1:1 nanosecond DDR2-1066 is only needed if you drive even with 533MHz FSB.

1066 MHz RAM is only faster if you also run on 1066 MHz. In addition, your 800 RAM is running at 400MHZ 1:1 (ie, ideal). I've even 2x1 GB 800 upgraded to 2x2GB 1066. In combination with a 64-bit Windows is the performance increase already high. It is then that more Windows works with the cache RAM and the 1066 is faster.
