    E6600 or Q6600

My config comprises of ASUS P5W DH DELUXE, I want to change the E6600.
I can not put DC in 8400 or 8500 because of the FSB which is limited to 1066 on the motherboard against the FSB to 1333 for 8 CPU series. Is it interesting to put a Q6600 or do I change the motherboard for something much better.

    I already have a HD4870 1GB to replace the 8800 GTS 640.

It completely depends on your budget.

Less than Rs. 13000, you can not find a solution motherboard + CPU interesting. In this case, the Q6600 might be a good solution

But from Rs. 16000 you can have a good motherboard with P45 and E8400. If you do not use 4 cores (not of multitasking / video record 3D/encodage ...), it is certainly better.

    Re: E6600 or Q6600

These are exactly the same processors, the Q6600 is actually equals to 2 chips of E6600 on the same package. In all applications no more than 2 cores, the difference will be zero. So it all depends on the applications you use.

I also have a motherboard Asus P5WDH and after updating the Asus BIOS with the software I have put my Q9450 (FSB 1333) without any concern for recognition or performance. Despite his age, this card is a very good motherboard.
